It’s always an honour to be asked to photograph a friend’s wedding – but when that friend is Zara who is an amazingly talented wedding florist for Floral and Lace, then it really is a huge privilege. Below you’ll find, as always, our favourite natural images from the day (our motto is Don’t Get Posed, Get Married and we even keep our couple shots unposed). What a day it was! Zara prepared the flowers, did her own make up, had Victoria Farr style her hair perfectly. Then Zara and Alex had such a stylishly intimate ceremony – then they got matching tattoos (with Alex personally tattooing Zara), had a surprise party and they finished by taking a romantic walk together and kissing in the rain.

Every wedding is unique and it is safe to say we will never, ever photograph a wedding like this again. With just a few guests it was one of the most intimate ceremonies we have ever captured – but then to go to Alex’s own tattoo studio while he tattooed Zara. Well, this was not your every day wedding – no sit down meal, no traditions, no best men, no bridesmaids. Just two people in love doing things their way. We loved photographing it all and our images from the wedding have gone on to win both WPS and Photographers Keeping It Real Awards. It’s also been featured in one of the biggest wedding blogs in the world: Rock N Roll Bride.
It’s lovely – and to be honest, more than a little humbling – when our work seems to strike a chord with people who weren’t even present at the wedding. And really, it’s all down to the people we document for first of all having such amazing weddings and secondly for trusting us to do what we do best.
So thanks to all our couples for choosing us to capture your day in our unique and natural style. We just want you to have the very best day ever – and then we want to capture it all creatively and beautifully without staging or posing. We don’t want our work to look like anyone else’s. Our couples’ weddings are unique and so our work is unique too. So we let our couples’ personalities shine through and we let them have the best day ever – and it’s safe to say that’s exactly what Zara and Alex did.
