Joanna and Steven had the most wonderful wedding at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn in Richmond. This stunning North Yorkshire wedding also featured the reddest, most otherworldly and unreal looking sunset we have ever had the fortune to witness. It was real though – yes, it really was that red!
We love autumn weddings as they give us such beautiful, golden light to photograph in – so we love it when a couple books us to photograph their autumn wedding. Joanna and Steven are such a lovely couple and they planned such a perfect day at this perfect Yorkshire Wedding Venue. It was our first trip to the Yorkshire Wedding Barn and we really cannot wait to go back. We’re not sure we’ll ever get a bright red sunset like this one again though, at this or any other wedding! It really was like the apocalypse. We had been out for some golden photos earlier, but we didn’t think we were in for a real sunset as we headed in for speeches. However, we noticed the sky turning a most wonderful red as the speeches drew to a close. We pointed this out to Joanna and Steven and they literally ran outside and up a hill, where we left them and photographed from below. As always, these were unposed couple shots – we just let our couples be themselves! And for Joanna and Steven, that was running up a hill heroically as the sunset spectacularly behind them.
The whole day was perfect. It was a really emotional morning with so many happy tears and then an equally emotional ceremony, with groom Steven overcome with emotion throughout. We simply love our job and love weddings like this: beautiful, emotional and just perfect.
We were so thrilled that Joanna and Steven loved their photographs and films and they said the following about them: “We had a package of two photographers and a videographer from M and G Photographic. We both wanted a relaxed style of photography where the day was captured as it naturally happened without many posed photos. The photographer was probably the most difficult thing to find and we scoured the internet trying to find the right style for us, but we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We genuinely didn’t notice the photographers around throughout the day and the photos were exactly what we were hoping for”.
