First of all, congratulations on your engagement! We hope all your wedding planning is going well – we know first-hand it is a really exciting time. As you’ve found your way here, we are guessing you are looking for a wedding photographer and this blog is all about how we will photograph your wedding day if we are the lucky ones chosen to document it for you.
Below we will talk about our style, our approach and how we will ensure that we will always put you first. Above all else, if you choose us as your wedding photographers, you will receive the most beautiful wedding photographs telling the story of your day.
Your wedding should be about you, not your photographer – and we will never lose sight of this. On your day we simply let you be yourself. We won’t fuss, boss you around or seek to be stars of the show – that is your job!
There are so many wedding photographers out there – so, why pick us over the others? Well, the main reason should because you love our photographs the most! However, we’re sure you are also asking: what is it that we do that is unique? Well, we take beautiful photos throughout a wedding day, naturally. But though we shoot in a very documentary wedding photography style, we ensure that every image is creative and unique.
We will also take beautiful couple shots of the two of you together – but these will never be cheesy or staged. As with all our images, your couple shots will be about you being yourselves and we’ll never take you away from your wedding for hours and hours.
We’ll just go for a walk around your wedding venue, grounds or even surrounding area. Then we’ll photograph moments of you as you hold hands, kiss, make each laugh, or have a relaxed chat – whatever comes naturally. There will be no awkward poses – unlike a lot of wedding photographers, we really mean that. We really do work in a natural and relaxed style. If we let you be yourselves, beautiful moments will just happen naturally. When you look at your images, you’ll remember the moment happening – you won’t remember us posing you! So if you want to jump in a river, like the couple did below, then go ahead!
We never recreate or previous work or copy the work of others – we’re always looking to be as original as our couples are. Because you are individuals, we feel your wedding photography should reflect this. So, as we’ve already mentioned, we just let you be yourselves and the same goes for all your guests.
We will tell the story of your whole wedding day, so all the key moments, all the happy tears, all the little details, all the funny things you never expected. Plus, we specialise in capturing so many things that you may not even realise are happening on the day. Then when you look back at your images, you will relive the story of your wedding in full.
This blog isn’t about our awards or experience. These of course are important, don’t get us wrong! We recently won the 2020 Best Wedding Photographer In Yorkshire and the North East award at the Wedding Industry Awards, an area covering the whole of Yorskhire, Lincolnshire and Northumbria. So winning such a prestigious award for such a large area was a real honour and we hope that gives you reassurance that you are booking an extremely skilled wedding photographer who has recognised for our work with many awards (we won an amazing total of 32 individual awards in 2019).
However, awards are not everything. We feel it’s important to also look look to the reason we won the awards in the first place: that’s our images. When you book us to photograph your wedding, you will receive beautiful, natural images like the ones on this blog and the whole of our website. On your wedding day we will capture real moments for you to look back on forever. Then in total – for a one photographer package we supply over 600 digitial images and over 800 with two – these really do tell the story of your day.
We have our main base in Yorkshire, so you could definitely call us a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer. However, that is just a base and we also have a secondary base in beautiful Hertforshire. From these bases, we photograph all over the UK and abroad.
Last year we travelled from Scotland, to Wales, to the Lake District, to Yorkshire, to Hertfordshire, to Devon, to Derbyshire, to Cheshire, to Lincolnshire to a destination wedding in Montenegro. Not all in one day we have to say!
But we feel this illustrates that couples book us because they love our work. People don’t just book us because we’ve photographed at their venue a hundred times before or because we were the first photographer they found. People book us because they trust us to document their day in our own unique style. That’s the way it should be.

As we’ve mentioned already, we hope you are primarily booking us for the quality of our work – in the end, it’s the photography that will last a lifetime and that’s why we don’t seek to offer gimmicks or complicated sales techniques. Also, every professional wedding photographer should be insured and have back up equipment – the thing that sets us apart from one another is our style of working and the quality of our photographs. So we try to keep things simple: if you want natural, beautiful photographs taken in a relaxed style by an experienced and award winning wedding photographer, then we’ll be a great fit for you! However, we realise the finer details are important to you as well and it is important to double check everything before booking your perfect wedding photographer.
