The Orangery at Settrington, is a beautiful building set in the private gardens of Settrington House. We love working at this wonderful Yorkshire wedding venue. We have more weddings booked here and are proud to be an Orangery Settrington wedding photographer. Below you will find a selection of our favourite images from Anna and Christopher’s beautiful summer wedding.

A relaxed morning getting ready

Anne chose to get ready in the charming and peaceful cottages on site. Set in a rambling rose garden and bathed in sunshine it was a beautiful setting. There was an atmosphere of calm anticipation. Nerves but excitement.

The Orangery Settrington is a wonderfully romantic Yorkshire wedding venue. Surrounded by stunning ornamental gardens, statues litter the garden. Features such as the Rose Colonnade, the Millennium Fountain lend an air of a Roman villa – think grand British houses and the grand tour and you are halfway there. All evocative of a grand and luxurious period in history.

Such a perfect Yorkshire wedding day to photograph

The overriding memory I have of the day is the fun atmosphere created by Anne and Christopher’s family and friends. This was one of those great summer’s days when you know early on you are in for a good day. Everyone was up for a good time and were able to explore and enjoy the grounds.

A stunning Yorkshire wedding venue

The grounds are beautiful yet delightfully overgrown and wild in places . Anne and Christopher enjoyed the chance to take some time for themselves as we walked the grounds. Many couples remark to us that the chance to have 20 minutes with each other is a really nice moment in the day. A chance for them to reflect and savour the moment.

An Italian wedding in Yorkshire!

The origin of the orangery lies in renaissance Italy and the space as a grand yet stripped backed elegance. You feel like you are in a Roman villa with beautiful statues and columns surrounding you. The highlight of the ceremony is the big reveal. Huge floor to ceiling curtains are pulled back to reveal the bridal party and made for a stunning first look as Christopher watched an emotional Anne elk up the aisle along side her father.

Wedding guests having the best day ever

Despite all the grandeur the day retained a fun and relaxed feel. People having fun in one of these perfect British summer’s days. Think long shadows, the sound of the fountain and laughter. Music is as provided by a live saxophonist and the party felt like a wonderfully relaxed affair.

A full dance floor to end the day

The giant curtain was put to good effect once again this time to conceal the band and Anne and Christopher already in place on the dance floor for their first dance. The curtain pulled away and the crowd enjoyed one of the more spectacular first dances I can recall. This was then soon followed by everyone joining them to dance the night away.

Saying farewell

I bid my farewells and left them to enjoy the night. The orangery was lit up in dark of the night and the fountain sparkled in the moon light as I made my way back to the car. A beautiful and romantic setting for a great day.
