It’s always an honour to be asked to photograph a friend’s wedding – but when that friend is Zara who is an amazingly talented wedding florist for Floral and Lace, then it really is a huge privilege. Below you’ll find, as always, our favourite natural images from the day (our motto is Don’t Get Posed, Get Married and we even keep our couple shots unposed).
What a day it was! Zara prepared the flowers, did her own make up, had Victoria Farr style her hair perfectly. Then Zara and Alex had such a stylishly intimate ceremony – then they got matching tattoos (with Alex personally tattooing Zara), had a surprise party and they finished by taking a romantic walk together and kissing in the rain.

Zara and Alex – an unconventional and intimate East Yorkshire wedding
Every wedding is unique, and it’s safe to say we will never photograph a day quite like this again. With just a few guests, it was one of the most intimate ceremonies we’ve ever captured. But then, to head over to Alex’s own tattoo studio while he tattooed Zara? Well, this was not your everyday wedding. No sit-down meal, no traditions, no best men, no bridesmaids – just two people in love doing things entirely their own way. We loved photographing every moment, and the images from this wedding have gone on to win both WPS and Photographers Keeping It Real Awards. They were also featured on one of the world’s biggest wedding blogs, Rock N Roll Bride.
Capturing moments that matter
It’s always lovely – and, to be honest, more than a little humbling – when our work resonates with people who weren’t even at the wedding. But really, this is all down to our couples first of all having such amazing weddings and secondly trusting us to do what we do best.

We were just there to document it naturally, letting moments unfold as they happened.
