We were recently invited by Ghost Orchid Bridal, the alternative wedding dress shop in Hull, East Yorkshire, to photograph four of their stunning wedding dresses. The models were married couple Alex and Zara, and we had the joy of photographing their real wedding day too!
We count Zara and Alex as good friends, so we knew we could capture them naturally, just as we do with all our couples on their wedding day. No posing, no staging in the photos we took. We simply let them walk, laugh, and enjoy the surroundings of Hull Marina and Humber Street. While this is technically a styled shoot, it has a truly natural and relaxed feel.
Zara: Model, Florist, and Friend
Not only is Zara an incredible model and one of our dear friends, but she is also a brilliant florist. Her company, Floral and Lace, is one of the very best Yorkshire wedding florists, and they created the beautiful bridal bouquet featured in this shoot.

A Stunning Selection of Dresses at Ghost Orchid
All the dresses are available from Ghost Orchid in Hull and we loved every single one of them. Ghost Orchid curated a wonderful selection, and it was a real pleasure to meet the owner, Katy. Her knowledge of bridal fashion and her attention to detail really shines through in everything she chooses for the shop.
Dress One: Imogen by & For Love
The first dress we photographed is called Imogen, by the talented Canadian wedding dress designers & For Love. This gown is the perfect balance of sparkle and elegance. It flows beautifully and catches the light in all the right places, making it a photographer’s dream to capture.
Dress Two: Victoria by & For Love
The second dress, also by & For Love, is named Victoria. This two-piece gown is stunning and has a relaxed bohemian feel. We love photographing bohemian wedding dresses because they suit the natural, documentary style we use to capture weddings. Victoria has a unique charm that makes it stand out for any modern bride looking for something different.
Dress Three: Kathryn by Daughters Of Simone
Next, we photographed Kathryn, a beautiful creation by Daughters Of Simone. The detailing and design make this gown timeless, and it was an absolute joy to photograph against the textures of Hull Marina and the surrounding streets.
Dress Four: Autumn by Chosen By One Day
The final dress we captured is Autumn, by Chosen By One Day. This dress is truly unique, with Zara loving every moment of wearing it. Its style is delicate yet distinctive, and it fits perfectly into the natural and relaxed aesthetic that we love to photograph.
Accessories That Complete the Look
Zara’s bridal bouquet was designed by Floral and Lace, adding the perfect finishing touch to each dress. The earrings are by A.B. Ellie, and the denim jacket is also by & For Love, giving a fun, personalised twist to the bridal styling.

We love photographing weddings across Yorkshire, from East Yorkshire towns like Hull to the North Yorkshire countryside. Every wedding has its own personality and character, just like each of the dresses we captured in this shoot.
