Crab and Lobster wedding Photographer – Naomi and Peter

We recently photographed another wedding at the Crab and Lobster, such a wonderful North Yorkshire wedding venue. As a Crab and Lobster Wedding Photographer we love every chance we have to visit this amazing venue. Naomi and Peter had the most delightful wedding anyone could ask for. Every last detail was planned to perfection. From the wedding cake, to the bridal gown, to the bouquet. Most importantly though, every wedding guest had the very best day ever.

The perfect winter wedding at the Crab and Lobster

We are proud to call ourselves an experienced Crab and Lobster Wedding Photographer. However, this was our first winter wedding at this stunning Yorkshire wedding venue. Winter weddings are always such fun to photograph. The crisp English weather may always be predictably cold in winter! It brings a wonderful quality of light in which to photograph in though. This is demonstrated here no more than the images of Naomi and Peter at the front of Crab Manor. Naomi and Peter stepped outside to enjoy a romantic moment together as the sun set. We feel very privileged to have captured these beautiful moments. These sunset images are some of our favourites from this very special occasion.

Happy tears during a beautiful wedding ceremony

Weddings are of course the happiest day of a couple’s life. However they also bring many other emotions with them. Naomi and Peter’s wedding vows were full of poignancy and love. As soon as Peter saw Naomi enter the ceremony room, he began to cry. It was a lovely moment to capture as he wiped the tears away. Then during the bridesmaid’s reading there was not a dry eye in the house! This time both Naomi and Peter shared the moment together. Photographing this raw emotion is one of the reasons why we really love our job. We never know how people will react at a wedding. We never know the unique moments there will be to capture. We always have our cameras close to us though so we are ready to capture these fleeting but perfect moments. 

A unique and exclusive wedding venue

The Crab and Lobster is a truly unique boutique hotel. You can travel the world in their themed rooms but you’ll never have to leave North Yorkshire! Go from India with their Taj Mahal room to Finland and Lapland. The rooms at the Crab and Lobster really are like nowhere else. Naomi got ready inside the exclusive and extremely luxurious Montauk Beach House Suite. With large windows bathing the whole lodge in natural light it’s also a dream space for a wedding photographer. We could immediately see why any bride or groom would choose to get ready in such a beautiful room.

Getting married surrounded by stunning Yorkshire countryside

The Crab and Lobster is an ideal choice for any couple looking to get married in a luxury hotel. The hotel itself and the surrounding and perfectly manicured gardens are a delight. However, it’s not just the Crab and Lobster itself that is an attraction when looking for that dream wedding venue. It’s tucked away in the heart of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. We are based in Yorkshire so know the area like the back of our hands. During your stay at the Crab and Lobster, you can easily visit the North Yorks Moors National Park. Or take a day trip out to historical York. Or visit the famous tea rooms in Harrogate. However, on your wedding day itself, you won’t be wanting to go anywhere else! First opened in 1991, The Crab and Lobster is an award-winning restaurant and hotel. It is nationally renowned for exquisite food and a wonderful wine cellar. So any couple getting married at the Crab and Lobster can expect a truly exceptional wedding breakfast. Naomi and Peter choose a menu for their wedding guests which featured both fish and meat across their courses. The Crab and Lobster also offer some amazing vegetarian food for any celebration. As a wedding photographer we are always so touched when a couple treats us to some food. Thanks so much to Naomi and Peter for providing us with a meal. We can safely say it was one of the best wedding meals we have ever eaten!

No posing and no staging: our photographic style

As always we have picked out our favourite natural images for this blog. We are known for our documentary wedding photography. Historically documentary photography started with photojournalism. Photojournalists capture moments as they happen without interference or direction. This reportage style is the way we love to work. On a wedding day we will still take more traditional photographs such as group shots. So if you book us as to capture your celebrations, we will talk this through with you before your wedding date arrives. However, we are best known for our un-posed images and all the photographs you see on this blog have been taken with no staging or direction. Even our couple shots are unposed – our couples go for a walk and we photograph it, that’s it! We don’t want any element of the way we work to feel out of place or get in the way of our couples feeling relaxed. We just let them enjoy their day without interruption. In turn we can concentrate purely on taking the most creative images of every wedding we are chosen to document.
