We're Hollie and Patrick Mateer, the husband and wife team behind The Mateers Wedding Photography. We specialise in unposed documentary wedding photography – but we often think that ‘artists with cameras’ better describes our approach to your day.

That’s because we focus – if you’ll pardon the pun! – on the moments as they arise naturally. It’s super important to us that you plan the wedding day you want, and that we capture that in all of its beauty, rather than forcing a moment that doesn’t reflect the day.

We live in Cottingham, East Yorkshire with our three young boys and two cats. We photograph weddings across the continent: from Manchester to Montenegro, The Lake District to Loch Lomond, the Peaks to Portofino.

We've worked together photographing beautiful weddings since 2017. Working as a husband and wife gives us a unique perspective, and we’ve developed an instinctive way of shooting weddings as a duo. We always know what the other is thinking, which leads to us being able to work so creatively, in such synergy. Here’s an image of us on our own wedding day – just the happiest day of our lives!
