Vanessa and Tom’s Autumn Hornington Manor Wedding
Vanessa and Tom’s stunning autumn wedding was our first ever Hornington Manor wedding photographyassignment. We are now proud to call ourselves Hornington Manor wedding photographers, and as we write this blog, we are looking forward to returning the following day to capture another beautiful wedding at the venue.
Hornington Manor is one of the most wonderful wedding venues we have ever visited. Owned by a lovely family who also run a successful UK-wide lambswool business, the venue has such an intimate feel while offering plenty of space for couples and guests to enjoy. Vanessa and Tom’s day began in the farmhouse at Hornington Manor. The main house provides beautiful accommodation for wedding guests and a wonderfully light bridal prep room. It was a busy morning with children playing and everyone excited for the day ahead, though Vanessa stayed calm throughout. From experience, time always seems to fly as couples get ready for their wedding day.
Capturing the Preparations and Ceremony
Before we knew it, Vanessa was ready in her beautiful wedding dress. Vanessa and Tom had chosen a two-photographer package with us, which meant we were also able to capture Tom and his groomsmen as they got ready. Once the suits were on, it was a short walk to a pub just 50 yards from the church.
The ceremony itself was a real pleasure to photograph, capped off with a beautiful first kiss. The funniest moment came as Vanessa and Tom left the church, when the page boy misunderstood what was happening and took centre stage with a huge grin on his face.
Relaxed Moments and Romantic Walks
It was a chilly autumn day, but canapés and drinks warmed everyone up back at Hornington Manor as the wedding reception got underway. Vanessa and Tom went for a quick romantic walk around the beautiful grounds of the venue. This was the first of two opportunities we had to capture them away from the crowd, enjoying quiet moments together. Later on, we were treated to an amazing sunset, providing even more stunning shots for their wedding album.
Dinner, Speeches and First Dance
The day continued with dinner and speeches. Thanks to Vanessa, Tom, and their award-winning caterers F4D for keeping us fed and watered. The three-course meal, including a selection of warming pies, was perfect for a November wedding. Copious amounts of good coffee kept us going throughout the day.
After some very funny speeches, Vanessa and Tom enjoyed their first dance. We stayed for a few songs afterwards to capture guests enjoying themselves on the dancefloor. After twelve hours of photographing, we were absolutely thrilled with the moments we captured. It was a beautiful day with a lovely couple and their amazing guests.
Returning to Hornington Manor for More Memories
We love that no two weddings are ever the same. Though we will return to Hornington Manor many times over the years, every wedding is unique. The only constant is the stunning venue and the chance to capture natural, beautiful memories for each couple we work with.
