What an amazing day we spent with Sarah and Aidan at their stunning wedding venue, The Riverlands in East Yorkshire. Previously known as The Barns at Flaxfleet, The Riverlands has quickly become one of our favourite places to photograph weddings. The venue combines rustic charm with modern elegance and provides a wonderful setting for couples planning a relaxed countryside celebration.
You will find some of our favourite images from Sarah and Aidan’s wedding day below. From the excitement of the morning preparations to the dancing late into the evening, their day was full of laughter, emotion and beautiful personal details. A relaxed start to the wedding morning
Sarah and Aidan chose our two photographer package, which meant we were able to start the day by documenting both of them getting ready at separate locations.
Aidan and his groomsmen were getting ready at home, joined by his and Sarah’s enthusiastic dog Luna who definitely brought some extra excitement to the morning! Meanwhile, Sarah and her bridesmaids were getting ready at her parents’ house surrounded by family and friends.
As is often the case with wedding mornings, time seemed to pass very quickly. Even so, the atmosphere remained relaxed and fun, exactly how a wedding morning should feel.
A romantic ceremony at The Riverlands
Soon it was time to head to The Riverlands wedding venue for the ceremony. The ceremony barn at this venue is truly beautiful, with soft natural light and rustic wooden details creating a warm and romantic atmosphere.
Sarah and Aidan decorated the venue with beautiful flowers and many handmade elements. Personal touches like these always make a wedding feel even more meaningful.
One of our favourite details was the wooden table decorations that Aidan had carved himself. They looked fantastic and added a unique character to the reception space.

Drinks and celebrations in the gardens
After the ceremony everyone gathered in the picturesque gardens for drinks and canapés. The afternoon was full of laughter, smiling faces and plenty of emotional moments as family and friends celebrated together.
Moments like these are some of our favourites to photograph. When guests are relaxed and enjoying themselves, the real energy of the day really comes through in the images.
A walk for relaxed couple photos
After the drinks reception we took a short walk with Sarah and Aidan to a nearby field for a few relaxed moments together.
We always keep couple time simple and natural. Rather than posing our couples, we simply allow them to enjoy being together while we quietly capture the moments that happen naturally.
This approach means the photographs show genuine interaction and real connection. If you would like to see more examples of how we photograph couples during a wedding day, you can view more images in our wedding photography portfolio.
Emotional and unforgettable wedding speeches
After the couple photos it was time for the wedding breakfast in the second barn at the venue. The speeches that followed were some of the most memorable we have photographed.
One of the bridesmaids delivered a Fresh Prince inspired rap that had the entire room laughing. Sarah and Aidan’s own speeches were incredibly heartfelt and emotional, leaving hardly a dry eye in the room.
These are the moments that make every wedding unique and remind us why we love photographing weddings so much.
The evening celebrations begin
The evening celebrations started with Sarah and Aidan sharing a beautiful first dance together. Shortly afterwards their guests joined them on the dance floor and the party continued late into the evening.
The energy on the dance floor was fantastic and it was the perfect way to end a wonderful wedding day.

Returning to The Riverlands
We absolutely loved photographing Sarah and Aidan’s wedding. It was also wonderful to hear that they loved their photographs so much that they recommended us to friends who are also getting married at The Riverlands wedding venue. We are already looking forward to returning to photograph another celebration there soon.
